White-Water Release Dates
White-water releases are provided here for testing historical conditions and provide data to test out WAM. For historical information these release dates are specified in the current Permit [3] For WAM analysis, these have been partitioned into mandatory dates, for important specified annual events; and suggested dates, provided there is sufficient water. The latter dates are the minimum desirable dates. Special requests can be made by the white-water community/MDE, otherwise its this set of data and times that WAM will try to satisfy. These may be specified in the new Permit. The mandatory events are tied to annual events that are typically scheduled a year in advance. Suggested events are held provided WAM suggest that they are possible with the new guidelines.

Proposed Mandatory White Water Dates (for use in testing WAM)
- Memorial Day Weekend
- Friendsville Upper Yough Annual Team Race: The fourth Saturday of July. From 11:00-17:00.
- Gauley Week: Note: Gauley Fest will always be held on the third Saturday of September. Releases on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday of the week before the Gauly Festival Weekend in Summersville, WV. From 10:00-13:00 each day.
