Boat Wakes

The wakes from boats are often pointed to as the culprit of much of the lakeshore erosion. This project looks at at the available evidence in the literature of the effects of boat wakes on erosion of shorelines and attempts to relate these results to the Deep Creek lake environment.

The Literature

Two reports by Willliam C. Glamore of the University of South Wales, Australia, "Managing and Assessing Boat Wake Waves" and "A Decision Support Tool for Assessing the Impact of Boat Wake Waves on Inland Waterways" address an objective way to assess the impact of boat wakes on coastal and inland waterways.
